Each 1 Save 1 - Annual FREE CPR Training Makes Our Community a Safer Place to Live
Each year during the month of March, which is Red Cross Month, the West Central GA Chapter hosts FREE lifesaving training in our community. Each 1 Save 1 gives people an opportunity to takes CPR and AED training at no cost. The program also provides free training in BAT, Basic Aid Training to area elementary students.
In 2010, the CPR and AED classes were held at Columbus State University, Brookstone School and at the Chapter's Ft. Benning Station. Staff and volunteer instructors also offered BAT courses at 6 elementary schools and at Girls, Inc.
"Our goal remains to teach 1 person in every family how to save lives," said Health and Safety Director Sandra Grant. Following the Each 1 Save 1 initiative, the Chapter is a little closer to achieving that goal, training 380 adults in CPR/AED and 500 students in Basic Aid.
