Guidelines |
- The West Central Georgia Chapter offers 4 Community
First Aid and Safety (CFAS) classes each month-usually
one per week on either Friday or Saturday from 9:00
AM-5:00 PM (there is a break for lunch).
- CFAS offers certification in the following areas:
Adult CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR, & First Aid.
- Check the HS Calendar for exact course dates.
- Check the HS Class Book or with HS Director to see
if class has vacancies before telling callers there are
openings. The roster will be pulled from the HS Class
Book if it is full.
- Class size is limited to 10 students to 1
instructor.
- Enrollment is on a first come; first served basis
- Payment is required to obtain a slot in the class.
Therefore, students need to pre-register and pay for the
class at the Chapter
- 10 % discount for military
ID holders.
- Students may also register by phone (at
706-323-5614) with a credit card. The card will be
charged at the time of the call. The student will also
need to provide their name and correct spelling, plus
two phone numbers.
- Students may
stop by the chapter before the class to pick up the
textbook to review it beforehand.
- Always encourage students to review the book before
the class.
- Being on time or early for the 9:00 AM class is
necessary because Responding to Emergencies (RTE), is
given during the very beginning of class. RTE is a
required prerequisite, which each student must pass
before going on to CPR no matter what combination of
certifications he or she may be seeking.
- Each of the modules—RTE, Adult CPR, Child CPR,
Infant CPR, & First Aid / AED - requires passing a skills test
on the manikins and passing a written test with 80%
accuracy. Recommend that you stop by and get the CFAS
book to review before the course.
- Dress is casual and comfortable.
- Students may bring a sack lunch & snacks
(refrigerator is available) or they may choose to go to
nearby restaurant or fast food establishment.
- Children are not permitted in class --
childcare is not provided.
